December 6th.
Thursday. Gentelmens General Com't
Esther has been using disgusting language and
when Jessie Evans complained of it to the Matron she
rushed at her - saying she would be the death of her, if
she hung for it.
Money received last month £98.15.10.
Number of inmates 35.

Friday 7th.
The Ladies General Com't

Jane Drew was called in, and reprimanded
by the ladies. and then they consented to give her another
trial.

Saturday 8th.
All the house has had a thorough cleaning
the garden too, has had extra attention today.
as we have nearly finished up the town work.

Sabbath 9th.
Rev'd H Lavers addressed us from 3rd Chap'r John, 16 verse
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son" &c
during the Service, Jessie was reading the bible. and he
requested her ^[sup] "not [end sup] to read. but listen[underlined]. she would have time to
read afterwards". this made her angry; and she walked
out. After the service we remonstrated
with her - she promised not to do so any
more -
