Saturday 3rd
The Matron went to [sup]the[end sup] office 1/2 past 9 oclk
and received ^[sup] am't of [end sup] last months bill of £52.3.7.

Sabbath 4th
Rebecca Cooper did not behave in the service
Rev'd Lavers preached in the aftern'n and
he very kindly sent Mr. Danne in the eve'g

Monday 5th
Took Eliza Ellis to sign the agreement
she is to go to Penrith 9 oclk Wednesday morn'g.

Tuesday 6th
Wrote to Cap't Goddard 'La Hague' to
say we would be glad to have his ships washing
as soon as possible.

Wednesday 9th
The Chief Officer 'La Hague' called to say
Mrs. Goddard wished to see me, about the
washing - that they would be along side the wharf
about 2 0 clk - I went on board 3 o clk and made
arrangements with Mrs. Goddard - and sent a dray
at 4 oclk for the linen.
Selby the Drayman only ask'd for the cap't (instead of steward)
the consequence was he brought [underlined] his [end underlined] familys wash'g [underlined] only [end underlined].
