September 23rd.
Sabbath
No minister - Matron had a Bible
class. Ann Moloy & Louisa Kane were
absent through sickness. all the rest were in
attendance. Mr. Button gave an
address at 3 oclk & Mr. McCoy in the eve'g

Monday 24th.
Essler continues very troublesome. we
cannot get any service out of her,
although she has had "line upon line" both by
precept and example. it seems all in vain in
her case.

Teusday 25th.
Jane Davies was taken to the train
and sent to Homebush station at
½ past 4 oclk - her father said he would
meet her there - and take her to a
situation. wrote to Mr. Johnston by order of the
ladies comt. ask'g what family they had and what kind of
servant they required.

Wednesday 26th.
Eliza Ellis is angry because Ellen is likely to
"get a place before" her - she thinks herself
ill treated because not allowed to go to the
labor office by herself. Matron promised to take her after
the bustle with Panama washing is over

Thursday 27th.
Capt. Johnson called & says his friend
Mr. Peter Johnston has a few cows which
Ellen Holmes would have to milk. but that
there was only 2 of family e.i [i.e.?] Master & Mistress
he will take her. 11 oclk tommorow. [tomorrow]
Gentelmens general comt.
