A Report was given the Gentlemen
31st Aug't the number in there 38. there has been
four admitted since then and one gone to a
situation, two escaped, the restless and unsettled state of
mind in some of them is truly pitable.
Money received for inmates work for the last
three months - copied from the day book.

Saturday 8th
Received £26.19.4 for the Raikaia's Contract
and left it at Mr. J Caldwells office on my
way home.
Mr. D. Walker gave a short address in the eve'g.

Sabbath 9th
Rev'd W. Mills preached 11 oclk. Rev'd H Lavers 3 oclk
and Mr. Pratt Chemist, in the eve'g - had great
trouble with Emily Rivers as she wanted to stay
away from the means of grace.

Monday 10th
We feel encouraged by the wondefull [wonderful]
change and improvement in Jessie Evans
she is as quiet and gentle as a lamb. does her sewing
well, and what is better still, attends the means
of grace and seems to take pleasure therein
earnestly do we hope that she is a "brand plucked
from the burning".
