September 2nd Sabbath
Mr. J. Roberts brought Jessie Evans from the breakfast meeting in a deplorably dirty condition. Rev'd W. Mills, preach'd
11 o clk - Mr. Bungery 3 oclk - Mr. Ayton in the eve'g
All the inmates except Charlotte Lincoln [sup] she is ill [end sup] in attendance in num 39.

Monday 3rd
A letter written by S. Tickle proposing to the
man she lived with, to get married, was taken to him
by Mr. J. Roberts - after he had read the letter, he
complained that she got drunk. Mr. R urged
upon him the importance of supporting if he
thought he could but marry her, as living
in sin was disgraceful and wicked.

Tuesday 4th
Ladies sub com'e
Three dray loads of linen brought from the Kirkowra
Whilst the Matron was talking to Mr. Roberts a
few minutes, Bridget Mr. Cann & Theresa Watson made
their escape, its a great pity they can get out so easily.

Wednesday 5th
A young woman called late (8 oclk), beg'g to
be admitted. sent her to Mrs. Thos Smith, from
whom she brought a note and we took her in. she said
Mr. Roberts had tried his best to persuade her to come many
weeks go, and she was sorry she did not.

Thursday 6th
Deborah was taken to the Clyde River steamer to sail 1 oclk
She was left with Mrs. Simpson (a housekeeper going to the
same place) a great many of [sup] the [end sup] girls cried at parting with her. they feel that they have lost a friend
