Tuesday 28th
I may be kept from falling again.
Eliza Ellis makes a great trouble of Deborah
getting a situation [underlined] before [end underlined] her - but when ask'd if she would undertake cooking & breadmaking
she owned she could [underlined] not [end underlined] and she was silenced.

Wednesday 29th
Rebecca Cooper is very poorly. not
able to sew. she is a much better girl
lately, we often speak to her of [sup] her [end sup] sainted Mother, she will never see her to all eternity, unless
she turns to God with her whole heart, and receives
pardon for all that is past-

Thursday 30th
The Rakuias washing "finished. Took Deborah
to get her outfit boots. Ms. Cox made her a present of
an additional pan - and a beautifull [beautiful] book. "Kind Words"
we then took the bus to Randwick to see her boy, it was
a very wet day, still it was "visiting day"

Friday 31st
Gentlemens general com't number of
inmates 38.

September 1st
Saturday
Matron called at 10clk with the Rakuia's
w'g bill, was told it would be paid this day week.
S. Tickle sent a note requesting the Matron to give her
her clothes, "went to her, and asked her to come to the
parlour and tell the reason why, she said she had been
living 1 1/2 years with a man in Kent Sq that she had
drink and quarelled with him the day she came in
I told her how sinfull [sinful] it was to live in adultry, that message was honorable in all &c &c advised her to stay with us or get married to him - she admitted they had done wrong & would consider
