3 oclk. & Mr. Ayton in the eve'g
Mary Brown is wonderfully improved. she is the
dearest girl in the Refuge and has all the care to
persuade the rest to tidy - and acts like a [underline] missionary [end underline] besides.

Monday 12th

Tuesday 13th
Hedges engaged as Messenger,
The 'Steward' came today, with two dray,
in which he expected to pack all the ships
washing - but he had to send for another
dray. the counting packing &c took 3/ 1/2 hours,
Mr & Mrs Goodlet gave a sumptuous treat to the inmates
tea cake fruit &c &c.

Wednesday 14th
Matron went with the washing bill
10 oclk this morn'g to the company? office
but owing to the clerk being at home
ill of influenza, shall have to call or send
on saturday the same hour.
Mr. Hill very kindly said that since the work was done
so well he had proposed that the Co'y
pay 2d each for all the blankets instead of 1d.
