Monday
Being a general holiday, gave
the imates permission to erect a swing
looked up all the books we could for those
who prefer'd reading - and gave the Cook
2lbs of Currants & some milk to make tea
cakes for them, they all seemed to enjoy
themselves, the bath was in constant
aquisition, & the garden too is a great
resort. poor things we like to see them
smile-

Wednesday 25th
The iorning [ironing] stove is out of order
thereby retarding the work, and something
must be done soon to prevent loss,
we have such a nice order - consisting of
plain sewing by which we are enabled to
keep the young ones employed.

Thursday 26th
There has been several of the girls
complaining of colds - toothache &C
such a demand for gruel & medicine but
theres nothing serious the matter
