April 18th
Thursday
Sir John & Lady Young visited us
this afternoon, her ladyship thinks
there is a marked improvement in several of
the younger ones - but the sight of Christina
seemed to give her pain, she told her the [ underlined] pig [end underlined]
[sup] in garden sty [end sup] was an angel of cleanliness compared with you, there
is not one here, knows how I have talked to you, nor what
you promised me, and looking at her said [underlined] you [end underlined] are
[underlined] not [end underlined] the Christina I used to know.

The din'g room walls have been whitewashed
the paint scoured, windows mended
giving an air of comfort to this home

Friday 20th
Emma Freeman continues
to give us great trouble, so very idle
and is also continually giving us trouble
by abstaining herself from prayers, hiding
herself & when found says "well I want
to go out."

Saturday 21st
The house cleaning was all
finished early today and the girls
are mending their Clothes and
singing away, some in the din'g room
others in the garden.
