April 1st
Sabbath
Mr. T. Roberts brought 2 women and three
girls from the breakfast meeting, Christina
Eliz'th Williams (the dark girl,) & E. Strickland
were told to go to Rev. Thos Smith or Mrs Goodlet
Christina came back with a note from
Mrs. Smith and was thereby readmitted. The
other two [underlined] had [end underlined] been to Mrs. Goodlet, and were
told to come on Tuesday. They were too late for breakfast [sup] at the Hall
[end sup]
Number of inmates, 38 all in good health.

Monday 2nd
Gave the inmates a half holiday, and
permissing to erect a swing, and have
games up the garden, and to those who proposed
reading, gave them books "Illustrated
London News" &c They all seemed happy
and were peaceable with each other all day.
Emily Callas came whilst we were at prayers, and begd
hard to be readmitted, she was told to come and ask
we have only received £20.1.5 for work this month.

Tuesday 3rd
Mr. Robins came at 7oclk to give a lecture, he
said I thought service had began for the "singing was so good,
Cath" Wardle ( who was formerly sent to us from Maitland
and was very naughty-wanted to come in, told her to come on Friday.

Wednesday 4th
Heard this afternoon that Janie Barrett uses
very bad language in her bedroom, I am very
much grieved about it, as she proffered to be sorry
for what she had done and wanted to reform. I shall
however, watch her closely, and call her to a/c before
the comm'e if it is really true.
