March 21st
Wednesday. Emily Turner started ¼ past 9 oclk,
yesterday morn'g per train, to her situation.
She exprefsed[expressed] her thankfullness for all
that had been done for her, and promised to
do her utmost to please her employers.
when she stood at the parlor door bidding the
Matron farewel l- about 20 inmates
began to sing "Here we meet to part again" &c &c.
The poor thing was quite overcome, and the
[underline] tears would [end underline] come, unbidden.

Rev'd C. Ord preached in the eve'g

Thursday 22nd. Kate Lee asked if she might
"go on the mangle", now Emily was gone
And as she promised to take pains with
the mangling, she was allowed to try,
and also to take charge of the little garden
by the mangle house for a month.

Friday 23rd. The Matron took Mag. Conroy and Ester Brace
to Dr. Bellisario, to have their teeth drawn
at 9 oclk this morn'g
