March 4th
Sabbath. Rev Wm Mills held service 11 oclk
Mr. Button 3 oclk, Mr. Ayton 7 oclk.

It is such a comfort to see so many
(39) all clothed and in their right mind
listening to the gospel call, insted [instead] of excelling
in drunken nefs[drunkenness] and debauchery.

Monday 5th. Mrs. J. Thompson visited this morn'g
and distributed tracts, and conversed with
a girl named Mary Anderson who wanted admittance
she advised the Matron to send her to Mrs. Smith,
and on our receiving a note from that lady, we
took her in to wait the decision of sub com[committee]
tomorrow

Mary Saunders called she seems contented with her
situation.
Tuesday 6th. This morn'g saw a poor creature sitting
over the way, at day break. about 6 oclk
she rang and implored of us to take her in, she
had slept 3 nights in the open air, & not tasted
food.
gave her Mrs. Smith's adrefs[address] and promised
to take her, if Mrs. Smith gave permifsione[permission].
we have now forty one inmates.
Matron ran over to George St. at ½ past7 oclk to
to purchase a pair of boots for Isabella and
then took her to Mrs. Pausey's, she wanted to delay
saying, "this is com.[committee] day will go tomorrow if you pleas"
O no, I am determined to go at once[underlined]. she [sup] then [end sup] objected to the bonnet[underlined]
