Feb'y 12th.
Monday. a M Roony was found in a house in
Linden Lane, baby lost through drink and debauchery -
was induced to come to the Refuge, promised to reform &
never taste drink again.

Tuesday 13th. M Roony was very ill all night and had a fit
this morn'g we sent to Watson. Chemist for a
draught to compose her.
she had another fit again this afternoon. Miss Galbraith
went in search of her husband - but he would
not have her home, he had sold their furniture by
auction, and would sell their house

Wednesday 14th. Finding this wretched woman getting
worse and worse, sent to the Police
to consult about her - two policemen
came to the gate at once, and waited untill [until]
we got her outside, they then escorted her
to prison. she is not fit to be at large.
Thursday 15th.

Friday 16th. Janie Barrett rushed in to Matron's
room, to give up her sewing, as she
"would not stay any longer". Isabelle
was so unkind to her, telling her she did
not come here because she had fallen? thus trying
to show how much better than Janie, she was.
