Jan'y 27th
Saturday. We have 38 inmates and only 3
that can sew, such a good for nothing
set of females, however they are made
to do extra scrub'g and making their own
under clothing, much of that, coarse as it is
has to be unpicked often.

Sabbath 28th Service 11 oclk. Sunday School at 3oclk
for the younger girls that cannot read
(as we had no minister) conducted by Matron
we spent a very pleasant afternoon, and trust
a "profitable one," No minister again in
the eve'g. All the inmates attended and [sup] those [end sup] that
could, read every other verse with the Matron
14 chap Job - and the [sup]^half[end sup] 119 Psalm singing 43rd
hymn "Day of Judgment, day of wonders,
Hark, the awfull [awful] trumpets sound,"
They appeared more serious than usual, the
sudden death of Hannah's boy, and the great
importance of being ourselves prepared for
death and judgment was spoken of, by Mr Roberts
at this morning's worship also.
at the end we sang the Evening Hymn and
prayed.
