Wednesday. Went on the tram with the last
of the La Hague's washing.
received payment for the same
£7.6.5. Three of the men had already
paid. Ellen Henefry was insolent
and refused to obey orders from Miss G
Therefore locked her up before going to the
ship, and kept her there on bread and
water until 9 o clk at night.

Thursday
18th The children (Emma Christina &c &c
sent weeding the garden. each girl was told to
place all their weeds in seperate [separate] heaps, and
whoever had the largest, should have a piece of
cake [underlined] seven! [end underlined] of them work so hard, that each one had to have [sup] a piece [end sup]

Friday
19th

Saturday Went at 6 oclk to Market, bought
20th a box of Pears 2/ 32lbs grapes 3/-
12 bundles' rubarb [rhubarb] 1/6, 12 cabbages 2/11
Lady Young & Lady Taylors called and
brought 8 plants in pots, to be given
to the girls who attend to their garden best.
Lady Young kindly enquired how we were
getting on? told her about the cheap fruit
when she replied "you'll soon have pears
of your own"
