a bunch parsley, thyme sage kidney beans.
and "a Goose for the Matron"
2lb tea, 2lbs coffe, 15lb Sugar 4lbs Raisins 3lbs Currants Peel
1/2 lbs spice
The wardrobe has come at last, it was much needed.
Sabbath Two services today, 11 oclk & 7 oclk
24th in the afternoon the Matron distributed Nos.
of the "Band of Hope." "Cottager" "British Workman
and Household Treats for the people" presented by
Mrs J. Thompson to the inmates, the girls were so
pleased with them particularly those with pictures in
may the reading of them be blessed to them.
Monday 25th X.Mas day. Mr Baptiste sent a whole sheep
(50lbs) Surloin of Beef (11lbs)
Mr. Thos Roberts stayed at home and taught the girls to
decorate the dining room. during which they
sang at intervals, "Hark the herald angels sing" &c &c
The room looked very pretty. The table set with
such sumptious fare, (Roast Mutton & Beef and
plumb [plum] pudding) -the room so gay - 2 Doz'n [underlined] new [end underlined] knives and forks - all the inmates, looking clean & happy in their best atire, [underlined] only [end underlined] one thing needed (a change of heart) and then we [underlined] would [end underlined] be happy.
