Tuesday,

Susan Johnson has given great grouble, with her
foul tounge [tongue] Eliz'th Casper and Betsy McMahon
want to go away rather than stay where she is.
Mrs. Thos Smith & Mrs. Spear talked and advised them to
stay it is to be [sup]^feared[end sup] that Xmas festivities outside makes them discontented and this is got up as an
excuse

Wedensday [Wednesday],
20th
The Matron went to Mr Bates (Caldwell Terrace,) Liverpool St,
to request the payment of his washing
bill which has been owing since Feb 7;
reached there 1/2 past 7oclk, but had to wait at
least 1/2 and hour, because he had not got
up. - he said he could not possibly pay now but hoped to in Feby. next. asked him to give an I. O. Y. he willingly wrote and acknowledgment of the debt.

Mr. Roberts addressed Eliz'th Higgins
to come in. sent her to ask Mrs. Goodlet if
she would be allowed to, as she had been in before.
She has just been liberated from prison, says she
got married since she was here before, but that her
husband deserted her.
