November 5th.
Sabbath. No minister in the Morng. so Mr Roberts came from Sunday School to address them.
Mr McCoy at 3 oclk. a Bible class in the eveng. Number of inmates 34.

Monday. 6th. Having heard that the 'La Hogue' had arrived, we arranged for Miss Lloyd to go on board, to ask for the washing . as Capt Williams was no more the capt.

Teusday. 7th. General com. of ladies.
Maria Bird was presented with a Bible for good conduct. which she promised to read.

Wedensday 8th Dr. Nathan examined Cathn. Kelly and ordered a wash from the chemists said that she had better remain here, as the Infirmary was so full. The Dr. asked if we had a syrings when told we had not, he very kindly said " I will send you one or two, as a present."

We have been tryg. for a long time to find out how to prevent waste of soap &c in the laundry. Miss Lloyd has agreed to weigh out the soap, she has been to enquire from a laundress the quantity[ underscored] to a given number of dozn clothes.
