Novr. 2nd
Thursday Julia Oshea lived at Mr Engineer, Gass Comy. for seven years. and had saved £140 besides sending £25. to Ireland to pay for bringing out a Sister.
after leaving her place she fell in with bad company and through drinking and lending money when drunk she has lost all. "not a shilling left"
she however seems now to see her folly, and "wonders where her senses were."
Friday 3rd A very wet day , the laundresses are in a sad fix. the dust storms in the previous part of the week having prevented their getting the clothes dry. and now the wet, so we have been obliged to have a large fire in the laundry and a woman left there to turn and watch the clothes.
The wringing machine has been doubly valuable today. the starched frocks &c were ready to iron [last three words underscored] directly they were wrung out by it. Our receipts for the month £25. 9.3
