Sabbath
October 8th. Mr Howitt gave an address in the morng,
no Minister in the afternoon. Matron had the younger ones in school, read scriptures, sang and prayed.
afterwards read from "Sunday at Home" and
told them a few tales, No minister again in
the eveng. had a bible class. all who could read taking part. 31 inmates. not one absent.
gave Emily Turner the gate key, during the service
as Melinda had gone to church with Mrs Anderson.
They were asked after eveg prayers, if any of them could tell
me what the sermon was about last Thursday eveg. They
said it was "about a serpent of brass put upon a pole" Numbers 21.9.

Monday 9th
Elizth Strickland has relapsed into her naughty wicked ways again.
has tried several times lately to induce the girls to fight! calling them names and
telling them "they were not game to fight &c." and this eveng she struck Sarah Bates. -
and used bad language.

Teusday 10th

Wedensday 11th
Mr J Caldwell visited, and gave
instructions to get the yard leading to the baths, paved.
in the eveng he sent us two watering cans. and a zinc tub.
