September 15th
Friday. Deborah Hardcastle brought a note from Mrs. Thos. Smith for admission poor thing, she seems really penitent, and says she will never live in Sin again, that she wonders that God spared her and "gave her time [underscored] to repent." May it prove to be repentance not to be repented of.

Saturday 16th. M.A. Grant had to be called to account for being absent from morn. prayers.

Sabbath 17th. Deborah continues to behave well. we endeavor to lead her to the "Fountain filled with blood Drawn from Immanuels veins."
Where Sinners plunged beneath that flood, Lose all their guilty strains."

Monday 18th. Mrs J. Smith called about her washing she was invited to see the garden and school, the sight of "so many young [underscored] girls" seemed to pain her, althought she said it was a great mercy to have them taught & provided for
She very kindly gave £1.0.0 as a donation.
Mr. Robins brought Jane Saunderson.

Teusday 19th. Jane Saunderson is ill from the effects of drink. had a fit about 4 oclk this morn. 'we thought she wd. [would] die.
she came in, exeedingly filthy, her clothes had to
be burnt! [underscored her husband ( Mr. Inspector Saunderson at Yass. is highly respectable "been promoted
two or three times." he sends her only 10/. p. week
now, formerly he sent 25/. but was induced to give less because she used to lie about the streets. dead drunk.[underscored]
