Sept 10th
Sabbath. Mr Winter gave an address in the morn.
Mr I. Fletcher in the aftern. Mr Roberts in the
even. (Had 15 of the girls for an hour (from
2 to 3 oclk) in the schoolroom, had reading scriptures
singing and prayer, then read them a tale fm. Mothers Magn.

Monday 11th. M. Ann Grant says the thought of her wicked and sinfull course makes her very unhappy, when she
reflects upon the religious training she received at home, in Scotland - and she is sure it will be the death of her parents if they get to know.

Teusday 12th
Harriet Penketh's outfit purchased at Messrs Dawson & Eager's. with which she is highly delighted. its to be hoped she has
received good here, she says she has - she is very docile and obedient and a good worker - she often says she hopes with Gods help never to get drunk &c any more.

Wedensday 13th.
Went to tell Maria Bird's parents that the ladies strongly advised them
to let her go to service up the country. far away from her old companions. they were at first very unwilling, but said they would talk it over & write to them
in coming home called at Mr. Bates to ask payment of thier washing bill £5.10.9 that has been owing since Feb 11th. Miss Bates said she would tell her father about it.

Thursday 14th.
Three of the youngest girls have been picking out the whole [underscored] bricks out of the rubbish which the men are raising the ground with,
Revd C. R. Orde preached from 89 Psalm 15 verse.
'Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound, they
shall walk O Lord in the light of they Countenance.'
