August 29th
Teusday : Ann Dunbar has been in three months, during which she has behaved exceedingly well. she looks 10 years younger. she is a clever cook, but as she is also a good needlewoman, have taken her out of the kitchen into the needle room.

Wedensday
30th Bella Cluny, that came here in the bus from the Midnight meeting with Elizth. Cooper ( and others) came to the gate this afternoon and called out at the top of her voice 3 times "Eliz Cooper came out of that _ _ _ _ place". Elizth was at school so providentially escaped hearing her. Sadly afraid of her coming again, but if she does, shall put her in charge.

Thursday 31st At the request of J. Caldwell Esq. the Matron went to Mr Baptiste's surrey [Surry] Hills to ask for plants, roots &c for the garden. he kindly promised to send [crossed out] make up a lot and send them next saturday. returned 1/4 to 11 oclk.

Friday Sept 1st Received a large quantity of roots & plants this morng. from Lady Young.
The receipts for work are only £ 18.12.0 this month. have endeavored to employ some of the girls in crotchet and knitting, untill something better comes. others in mending clothes & darning stockings. I get on much better when theres plenty of work.
