Friday. Jane Dean seems very penitent. Matron had a little private conversation with her, when advised to pray, she said, I do try to pray for forgiveness of the past, and strength to do better in the future

Sabbath.
15th
Sarah Ferrington's parents called, but they were told they could not see Sarah, until after service (which had begun) they consented to join with us. Rev Sellars preached "come unto me all ye that labour" & c. the mother wept much whilst listening to him. when it was over the father said he "thought this a blessed institution he could not tell how thankfull he felt for the care and kindness shown to these unfortunate girls, his own amongst the number" and although only a working man, he hoped to be able to give something towards its support before long".

14th

Mrs. Little called with a little work. she was invited to walk around the institution . she expressed great pleasure & satisfaction at seeing all so quick, clean and orderly. 1/4 to 9 oclk two girls, Romanists, brought a note from Mrs. Smith requesting [admission ?]. one of them has been in before for 3 days.
