August 6th
Sabbath As the Revd W Mills came in Mr Harris called to know " if his wife had returned" that she had got money from him, after which she was found in[inserted] even a worse plight than when he brought her [inserted] last but she promised him she would come back, and he was very sorry she had not done so.
Mr Ayton gave an address in the eveng [evening] all were very attentive.

Monday 7th We have asked Tint, and another trap maker also for sewing, but have not yet been able to get any.

Teusday [Tuesday]
8th Matron and 4 girls spent an hour picking stones out of the grass. was then called away and on her return found them all
seated together & the work at a stand still. there was a spontaneous jump on her appearance.
Wedensday [Wednesday]
9th Cathn. [Catherine] Molly is very idle, have put her in the laundry to try if she will work any better there.
Thursday
10th Mr Roberts called upon the land lady of the house Olivia Davidson lived in (Athlone Place) but they said no one of that name had lived there, Mr & Mrs Neil were thier [their] last tennants Melinda is ill again, and had to go to bed before dinner.
