Whereas, on September 3rd 1900, the city executed
her two promissory notes to Gutta Percha
Rubber Company for $250.00 each, with interest
on same at 5% from date until paid, due respect-
-ively two, and three years after date, and
Whereas said two notes have not been paid
on account of a defective hose, for which said
notes were given, and Whereas, said defections
have been good, and so reported by Chief of
Fire Department. Therefore, we recommend said
notes now paid with interest hereon at rate of 5%
as aforesaid and City Secretary is instructed
issue warrants to take up said notes

but that inasmuch as the city was deprived of the use of the hose
for about two years of pending the settlement of the question of the
interest on the amount for the full time, the city tender them the face of
the notes plus interest at the rate of 5% per annum from the
time the hose was accepted by the city, and the City Secy is
instructed to issue warrant in accordance
with this resolution.
