She married William Fox Northcott on 14 February 1922 in Bathurst and they had three
children. She died on 1 September 1989 and her husband died on 26 October 1979.

7.1.5 LUCY ELIZABETH OAKES (1858-1937)

Lucy was born on 23 May 1858 at Mittagong and was married by her brother at St. James'
Church, Wilcannia on 24 November 1886 to Frederic Bowman-Bacon, son of Reverend H.B. Bacon
of Newark, England. They lived at Military Road, Guildford and later at Potts Point. Lucy worked
as a midwife and her husband was a prison official. They had two children: John Spencer born in
1887 and Helen Mary born in 1890. Lucy must have been very busy for her mother, Elizabeth
Oakes, complained that she was not a good letter writer although she heard occasional news through
her son Clifford's wife, Jane, who became friendly with Lucy in Sydney. Lucy would visit Jane and
Clifford by walking along the railway line to Fairfield, then along Hamilton Road to Fairfield West
- a very long walk. The friendship seemed to falter when Jane embraced the teachings of the
Jehovah's Witnesses (469) Lucy died on 16 December 1937 and her husband died on 3 November
1919. They had the following children:

7.1.5.1 JOHN SPENCER BOWMAN BACON (1887-?)

John Spencer Bowman Bacon was born on 29 August 1887 in Sydney and married in 1908 in Granville, Annie E. Walsh.

7.1.5.2 HELEN MARY BOWMAN BACON (1890-?)

Helen Mary Bowman Bacon was born on 15 January 1890 in Balmain and married
in 1908 in Granville, Henry Alfred Pople.

7.1.6 MARION OAKES (1860-1873)

Marion was born on 25 August 1860 at Mittagong and died on 23 August 1873 at Helenie,
Ryde. She was buried at St Anne's Church, Ryde.
