Sir,
I am instructed by the Visiting
Justice to inform you, that the prisoner
named in the margin, was this day brought
[name in margin] George Kan als. Mahar
before him, and in reply to the usual
queries stated his desire to change his
religion from Roman Catholic to Protestant
and in doing so acted altogether of
his own free will and without the exercise
of any sectarian influence whatever.
The name of the prisoner will from
henceforth be borne on the Gaol Books
as a Protestant.
I have the honor to be
Sir
Your obedient Servant
W. Small
Gaoler
