My Dear Friend,

Though I but lately have written
to you very largely yet I must not omit
the present opportunity, especially
as I since received your kind letter by
the Brig Endeavour, the receipt of which
I would have acknowledged by the return
of the same vessel but for the above
circumstance and waiting for the return
of the King George. I feel much obliged
by your kind attention and the trouble
you take in giving me the news from
England &c.. Glad should I be to hear
of peace being concluded between our
native country and America: there
appears something very unnatural in that
war; it is in effect Brother fighting against brother
