I can upon you that we spent a very happy
meeting at the Crown, last sunday evening. I am
very glad that you have been ordained, & my
prayer is that you may be made an useful instru=
=ment in the hand of God all your life time to
turn many sinners from their sins. I can conscientious=
ly say that we hardly never kneeled at a throne of grace
without praying for you & our brother David Jones
I am not coming back to Lampeter after the holy
=days Mr John Williams has promised to get the
Bishop to hold an ordination about september or
october next when I shall be up with the Bishops regula
=tions. It seems that it has slipt [slipped] your memory to
mention about me to Mr Evans of Llangeler, but
he told me that he will do whatever will be in
his power for me, that I may be ordained at the
next ordination. I am under the same obligation
to you as if you had mentioned it. I must trust
& rely on him who leads the blind in a way
that he knows not, but at the same time I should
be very much obliged to you, should you be pleased
to assist me to get into some kind of situation
either by recommending me to some of your
friends who are acquainted with the Bishop of
St Davids or desiring them to write in my be=
=half to the Bishop or to Mr Evans of Llangeler
It seems that the Bishop has heard of your good conduct
& now should he hear that I was acquainted with you
at Lampeter, I think he would take more notice of me

[page 3]
I am told that you are acquainted with Mr Simeon
& Mr Simeon knows Mr Evans of Llangeler very well
Mr Simeon, through your kind recommendation of me
may get me into a good situation, because the
Bishop will comply with every request of Mr Simeon
I hope you will be so kind as to excuse my boldness
& impropriety in asking you to do such a thing
as I have mentioned. I would not have mentioned
to you about it, unless I have proved you to be my
wellwisher & faithful friend I shall expect to hear from
you once more before you will go off. Do favour me
with one letter again I beg of you. Mr Edward Williams
will write to me & you can inclose few lines in his
letter or be pleased to direct one to me. I shall pay the postage
of it if you will be writing to some of your
friends in Wales I hope you will not forget to
write to me from New South Wales, I should like
to hear that [you] got home safe very much I shall
never forget you at a throne of grace & I hope
that all my relations as well as myself will
get the benefit of your prayers. Now I have
only to say that he who governs & guides his
people over seas as well as land may guide
you home safe to the great comfort of all
your friends & relations & may you be able
to answer for all the sheep that will be put
in your care when christ will come in his
glory to give every one according to his reward this
in the constant prayer of your wellwisher & faithful brother
in christ Evan Evans
