Lampeter, June, 23, 1821

Dear Friend & brother in Christ

As an opportunity offers itself for sending a letter
to you I think it my duty not to let it slip especially
since you sent me such a kind letter the last time
for which I am under the greatest obligation to you
Insomuch that our dear brother Williams is coming up
now, who will inform you of the success we met with,
since you left us, both as to our spiritual as well as
temporal things; this letter of mine will be a short
one. I am determined to follow the kind admonitions
that you gave me in your last letter hoping that
I do see the necessity of doing it. You have been pleased to
correct me often when you was here of many mis=
takes that I made in the manner of expressing
myself in the english language, such as, if & con=
fort &c &c. In doing which you have shewed that
you was my faithful friend in Christ. Should pro=
vidence be pleased to bring you back to Lampeter
again, I would be much more attentive to what
you would be pleased to tell me than I was before.
It is very likely that the sunday school will go down,
because Mr Edward Williams & myself have left
it, the same sunday & it is uncertain whether Mr Williams
Williams will come back too, yet we hope that
some will come forward again to carry it on.
The children seemed to fell [feel] very much last sunday
at our departure
