Elmdon House

Dec 9. 1818.

Sir,

I happen to have seen a
passage in a letter of a Mr Threlkeld,
one of the London Society's Missionaries,
written from Van Diemen's land,
in which he stated that the most
horrible practices were perpetuated
with impunity towards the poor
wretched natives of that uncivilised
country, such as hunting them
with dogs &c. I have since learnt
that you were at the same time
in the same country on your
return to England.
