Dr [Dear] Brother Samuel
Just before I left Sydney I sent
Mr Bemi with a Note to Mrs Brougham
wishing her to pay the balance of new
accounts £12 Stg equal to [indecipherable] & if she did he was to pay
Mr Thos Jones the amount of his accounts
and Mr Hoskings the balance after which he
was to have come off to me as soon
as possible - I left him & came on
board & within ¼ of an hour we set
sail with a fair wind & cleared the
heads - therefore Mr Bemi had not
time to get on board - I have little
doubt but he has told you *
I shall tell you some of the trouble
we have met with & my sister the
comforts - I have much reason as yet
to be thankful - we set sail between
11 & 12 O'Clock & as before said soon got
out to sea the Brigge toward evening
