dead he is taken & I am left on 3 or 4 th of Nov 1813 the as the poor little fellow was going on board with some food for his only companion a little dog the boat [indecipherable] from the side of the Vessel he fell in & found a watery grave far far from his native home his widowed mother & unconsciously bereaved relatives. His remains now found & interred in the Church yard of that place . where no stone tells the 'name & no friend drops a pitting tear & where with his of all claims & [indecipherable] disposition & [indecipherable] his body lays until the resurrection of the dead.
At this distance of time I feel the force of those words "Work while it called today de. When I heard of his death those words came very forcefully to my mind
"He is taken from the evil to come describe a sailor boys life but I do hope & trust that was made as some good thing was [indecipherable] him he will be found among the chosen of the most high for where much is given much will be required & where little loss will be expected
