Tues,

Dear Mother,
All your little packages arrived
safely. Thank you very much. Everything
was just right. Thanks also for the letter
from Alice. I don't mind if you read it.

My job is really great. They're teach-
ing me new things all the time & it
allows me time to do the things I really
want to do, on the side -- a luxury
which I'm still unused to.

My Mother guppie presented me with
a splashing bunch of babies on Sat
& we currently have 3 bowls of fish
sitting around. When you come up, do
bring along a screw-top jar, I'm going
to breed the biggest guppy you ever saw.
The only trouble is, that for every one
I want, I've got to take ten from the stork.

Let me know your plans for Thanks-
giving. I guess dinner at my place would
be about the best thing. I think Jim's
family is kind of expecting me there. I will
plan to be with you, first, though, & may-
be they will have theirs at a different
time. It depends on who gives it. Don't
sell that "little birds leaving the nest"
stuff short.
