Monday 28 Boat up dont know what

released before long I prayed

Tuesday 29 14 hundred prisoners but(?)
from Rosencranz army on order issued to the
affect that we get 7 dols of Confed money for 1 dol
of Green Back Rev Ambler prayed

Wensday 30 nothing of interest to day the
prospect for our release soon is not promising
Col Powell prayed this evening

Thursday 1 Have some cold how uncertain
are thing around us Oct 1 finds me still in
Lilly I prayed

Friday 2 a quarrell took place in the street
between two men. one fired a gun at the
other the Ball passing through him and making
a flesh wound. Passed through the elbow
of the second man shatering it terible
making amputation necesary the ball
struck the third man taking effect in the
bowalls and ledged the last man is most
all wounded the party was Rebel
soldiers the man was in great pain and
distress about his sole at the sugestion of the
rebel doctor I talked and prayed with him
oh for grace to see him faithfully
Capt Gleson of the 5th Md Reg died to day
he was an infidel in life but a believer in death
