Monday 6th 9 months to day I
was mustered into service prayr
this morning by Bro
Hamer - at 12 oclok the captains
were called down below 75 in
all and then three chaplains
Bro Mclaig Brady
and I. awfull were our feellings
when we learned that two
of our captains were to suffer
death as a retaliation
for two confederate men that
was executed in Kentucky
they were selected by drawing of lots
the painfull duty fell
on me to draw and in the
stilness of death I drew from
the box Capt Sangor of the first
New Jersey cavalry and
Capt frinor of the 51 Indiana
Bro McCabe Led in prayr this
evening and such a divine influence
