Saturday 8th was waked up at at 1/2 past two oclok This morning to go and see a man in the hospital at Williamsport who was badly cut in the head he belongs to the 12 Illinois Cavalry he is concerned about his sol prayed with and pointed him to the Saviour as best I could returned to my tent 1/2 past 4 o clock Recd a letter from my Daughter Mary and one from Mrs. Smith near Elkton about her sons release from the army in the afternoon visited Andru Smith prayed with him, left him weeping and praying. Visited the man I visited this morning they think him better went to the left wing of the Reg and make arrangements for preaching on the morrow read the first chapter of John and thus closes the day thank god for good health
