I left home for the Camp at Williamsport Oct 23 1862 took the cars at Upton at 1 oclock with a heavy heart--arrived in Baltimore and put up at the mansion house in Fayett Street, arrived at the Calvert Station in time to take the 700 trane for Harrisburgh but on acct of having no pass for my hollend bag I
could not get off until
got out went to the provost Mess hall got a pass for my
bag took the cars for Harrisburg and arrived
there at 9 oclk
at night went to 3 hotels
before I
could get lodgings staid
at a fashionable house
but had to sleep in the 5th
story took cars for Hagerston
and arrive at one oclok
hired a hack and arrive in camp 1/2 past 4 oclck
