The Honourable the General Assembly of the
State of Tennessee
The Petition of the Officers of the Second
Regiment of Cavalry of Hamilton District
humbly sheweth, - that your Petitioners toge=
=ther with a Considerable Number of Citizens
under their command, are obliged by Law
to Attend their Regimental Muster at Chuks
+ Roads, On a day that is during the
Session of the Superior Court in Knoxville,
and Whereas a portion of your Petitioners
and Others under their Command have; and
Occasionally may have, business at the Court
in Knoxville, on the day that their Services
are required at Chuks + Roads, and as
the attendance of a Citizen cannot be enforced
by the Military when Summoned by the
Civil Law. We humbly concieve, that it
woud conduce to the good order and better
Regulation of the Regiment and a more strict
attendance might be enforced, was the time of
holding our Regimental Musters altered.
