that, that was the best cure. They
have all died away but the scars
and the [scabs - crossed out] place where some of the
iodine burnt my face is still there and
looks nasty. I expect that I will
be out of here in a few days and
long before you get this letter.
It was certainly too bad that the
71st was broken up. Perhaps it is
over with us. They are only placing a
few of the officers and only lieutenants
and one Captain at that, and those
are transfered into dear knows what
battalion. It was certainly pretty
hard for the old colonel to try and,
explain everything. I am transfered
