Rebecca T. Miller gave some acct. of the
Children’s Rally at Rockville which she had
attended that day. 2000 were present and “S. S.
High” seems to have captured some honors.

Louisa T. Brooke read of the success
that has resulted from science having undertaken
the fly and mosquito problems, - the
former only travel about ¼ mile from their
hatcheries but the mosquitoes go some 3 mi, and
we should spray all places wherever stagnant
water is standing near our dwellings.

Alice Tyson had a story of the Sunday
School Teacher who was giving a lesson on
the subject of Jacob’s Ladder, and became
rather non-plussed when asked why the
angels needed a ladder while they had wings.

Emilie T. Massey gave statistics about
Winifred Stoner of Pittsburg, she weighed 14
lbs. when she was born, and at 6 wks. could sit
alone, at 6 mos. could talk and knew colors,
at 8 mos. walk alone, at 16 mos. could read, at
3 yrs. play the piano. At 5 yrs. write stories for
papers. At 9 yrs. spoke 8 languages, had written
5 books, and passed entrance exams, at one of
the largest western universities. At 12 yrs. ready
for graduation in any university in this country.

She can row, fence, box, swim, dance, beat champion
chess players, ride horse-back, sew, cook,
crochet, knit, sketch from life, play on both
piano and violin. Let us watch the future
of this prodigy.

The Sec’y had saved her piece from the last
session and read of a new wonderland on the roof
of the Rockies, a Gov. reservation, called Glacier Park
that the son of Railroad Magnate James Hill of
Minn. had fairly forced people to learn of and
visit. Last year 15000 tourists confessed the
half had not been told them.
