Training in the Public Schools, for men as well as
children, deserved the title.

Elma Chandlee had a loving sketch of Eliz.
of Belgium, “Queen errant” but “Queen Regnant”, still
who has been an angel of mercy on battle fields
and in the hospitals, of her stricken country.

Marjorie Snowden told of the helpful short
course for women at M. A. C. Like the pupil at
Dotheboys Hall who first spelled “winder” w-i-n-d-e-n,
and was sent to wash the same, a lecture
upon meats was followed by the carving up of

Of her large soul’s abundance and excess,
Her daughter and her mightiest heritress,

And at this thunderous hour of struggle and stress
Hither across the ocean wilderness
What word comes frozen on the frozen spray?
Neutrality!”----------------

Deny the parentage, but say,
‘Born in the proud midday
Of her large soul’s abundance and excess’,
Is just a leetle off, we guess,
Considering the facts that stand
Around the borning of the daughter’s land.
Say, was the mother soul’s abundance and excess
Sent out across the ocean wilderness
In aid and comfort to that child’s distress?
At Lexington and Bunker Hill
Did mother love and mother skill
