for the cask of oil. But you have made your
figures so very bad that the Board of Trade cannot
read them, neither can I, put the amounts
opposite the names of each person below and

It having been represented to the Lords
of the Committee of Trade that, recently you
sold to Mr William Smith of Brandes Burton cw lbs 1.2.14
of Foreign Tallow for the sum of £ 3.14.0. I am
directed by their Lordships to call upon you for any
explanation you may have to offer respecting
the said transaction, particularly how the
Tallow came into your possession. You are to
write your reply on this paper and return it to
Lieutenant Stewart RN Hornsea Coast Guard Station.
