A good day. Ben & Jim & N
worked in the tobacco part
of the day. Lizzie and [Louisa?]
Bennett and my sister Mrs [?]
come today. I was so glad that
they come. Mrs Edmons & Jamie
Gravely come to see Josie a little
while. Mrs Hutcherson come
and Julia Fergerson & Reubin
Reynols come a little while.
Mrs Edmons brought apples,
Mrs Hutcherson apples & peaches
& plums, Lizzie brough a cake
& ban[a]nas. I am glad of all
the kindness that is bestowed
on Josie. Little Paul Smith
eat dinner with us. Jim
went home this evening.
