Sir:

I have the honor to submit the following Report of Light House Operations for the month of October, 1871.

Yaquina Light House, Oregon
All the work completed, including erection of Lantern and Lens and painting of Lantern.

Machinist traveled for Portland to Newport & back on his arrival the L.H, Overseer had succeeded in putting up the Lantern & Lens, so that his services were not needed.

Light House has been turned over to the L.H. Keeper. As no chimneys have been sent, I made application to the L.H. Inspector at San Francisco, and as soon as they are received, the lamp will be lighted.

Cape Foulweather Light Station, Oregon
Completed Overseer's House, Tool House, Bridge(on road to Newport), Tramway, Road to Tramway, Road to Sand- ??? and Grading at L.H. Site.

Enclosed Mess-house and Men's quarters.
