Sir,
I have the honor to recommend that Cape Foulweather Light Station be furnished with a derrick, or other suitable means, for hoisting supplies from the beach on the south east side of the light house reservation to the top of the bluff, by which it is loaded.
The beach which has been used for landing heavy supplies, since the station was established is a mile from the station, is shoal and rocky, and can be used only when the sea is smoothest.
