Put relay in HV power supply of QI. Now when
HV is turned on and off, primary of supply is
switched causing HV to be brought up slowly
and eliminating switching transients. Tried to
operate eye with no luck. Noticed No High freq. audio
noise from camera which is usually present from deflection
coils in raster mode. Then a large puff of smoke
happened. Found that unprotected output terminals
of the + 28V 20A had been shorted out by the
HV supply above it in the rack. The supply powers
the deflection coil drivers. Power supply damaged
in regulator section - at least one resistor and
one capacator are blown. DAMN.
