Made with the two head signal attenuators in place
in the 551. When the head attenuators are removed (which
they are in normal operation) DTA4 did not fail while
running EX DATA. EX DATA was only run for 5 minutes,
however. The above inplies that the trouble could be
that one of the redundant tracks is not reading or
writing.

The system was re-initialized at 1255. After
this we ran MAGTST again and got no errors. Dr.
Samuel tried to read one of his old tapes (written
before the vacuum motor failure) and found that the
545 was reading properly.
