To library and to Committee on Culture. Lovely warm day. [crossed over] D[crossed over]Harold came from Ottawa. Taylor's left cat with us.

Sat.
Baked pies. Worked on " changing [Canada]." Margot [Mung] here for dinner. Anne and Hugh out. Anne played for [Bishop Strachan School] vs private schools.

1952
With Harold all day, he very gloomy. Bea Cassidy had lunch with me. Anne start working at Banting. Hugh hunted work.

1953
Hugh started work at beer warehouse, Front east. He and Anne out in evening. I typed " Ideas" and shopped at village.
